How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I will be completing one year in July
What is your favorite exercise or workout?
All Olympic lifts. Completing heavy lifts puts me in really good mood.
What is your least favorite exercise or workout?
Running would be my least favorite. My legs just aren’t built for running.
What were your goals when joining CrossFit? Have you achieved any of those goals?
I didn’t have any goals when I initially started CrossFit, I just wanted to see what it was all about. I remember my first day in when JJ gave us a small workout on the ‘Bring your buddy’ day. I almost blacked out completing the first round. That’s when I decided to give this a try. Within a few months, I was able to see the changes.
Describe your biggest milestone, achievement, or “A-ha” moment?
Before starting I could never do a pull-up, not even one. Now, I can do a max of 10. That has to be my biggest achievement.
Has CrossFit affected your life outside the gym?
It sure has. Before joining I was overweight, had high cholesterol levels and used to be tired all the time. Now, I’m stronger, my weight is where it should be, my cholesterol levels are back under control and now I’m just sore all the time! 🙂
What advice would you give people just starting CF?
This isn’t a quick thing. You need to keep at it and you will eventually see great results.

Big thanks to Casey. If he hadn’t kept pushing me during the on ramp or during the group classes, I would’ve never made this far. I love the family ambiance the gym has which is not something you get in other gyms.
