How long have you been doing CrossFit? I have been doing Crossfit now for about 4 and 1/2 years. I remember my very first On ramp class…It was the day after I ran my first half marathon in Chicago 9/11 lol! I am such a beast ha!
What is your favorite exercise or workout? Anyone who knows me knows I love moving major weight! Squat days give me life!!!
What is your least favorite exercise or workout? My least favorite exercise would most definitely be pullups. I got a lot of muscle to move….Damn that rig!!!
What were your goals when joining CrossFit? Initially my goal was just to maintain what I already had going. I had always been into exercising my whole life. When I first started, I knew nothing about Crossfit so a huge shout out to Trevor Smith for introducing me to it and exposing me to a different level of fitness. Currently, my goals change quite frequently. There are so many things to get better at in crossfit which is why I love it so much. You can literally have a lifetime of goals in this thing which is so awesome for keeping you continually motivated!!!
Have you achieved any of those goals? It most definitely has! It has met what I expected to gain from it and then some! Never thought I would get this strong but yea, I am pretty strong 😉
Describe your biggest milestone, achievement, or “A-ha” moment? My biggest A-ha moment or achievement/milestone, believe it or not, did not come from hitting a PR or killing a WOD. But it came when I didn’t hit that squat weight goal, when my snatches or cleans were looking a straight mess, or when a WOD straight wreck me, literally. It was during those times when I was fed humble pie that I realize you may not kill it initially, but through hard work and dedication you get better. And knowing that the next time you step up to that same plate you smash it because you worked for that win and that makes your victory that much sweeter.
Has CrossFit affected your life outside the gym? My “IT” factor has increased exponentially!!! Am I right ladies? Or am I right?! And the booty is on point ha!
What advice would you give people just starting CF? Keep it fun and don’t stress out over things that you are not able to do yet. If you continue to do it, It will get better over time, trust me! I have seen so much improvement in others over time. That is so awesome to me!
Anything else you want to add? I am still so in love with crossfit! The gym is great and the members and coaches are some of the most awesome people I know! I would not change my experience here for anything in the world. I will always represent for the 6:30 crew and platform 2 ha!!!
