How long have you been doing CrossFit?
About a year and a half. I took a year off, but just started back up this past January.
What is your favorite exercise or workout?
My favorite workouts are the ones that involve the Olympic lifts, thrusters, and/or burpees.
What is your least favorite exercise or workout?
Running. Hands down my biggest weakness. I’d much rather lift weights!
What were your goals when joining CrossFit? Have you achieved any of those goals?
I originally joined CrossFit because I wanted to become strong. I’ve definitely gotten stronger, but I will always be striving to better myself. I have more gainz to make. My goals now are to continue building strength and working on my weaknesses (muscle ups!!). I would love to start competing too. So I’m working towards being a well-rounded athlete.
Describe your biggest milestone, achievement, or “A-ha” moment?
My “A-ha” moment was when I realized that the best way for me to get better at CrossFit was by building muscle and getting strong. At first, I was afraid to focus more on strength. I just wanted to do metcons all day. Once I started strength training, I noticed a huge improvement in my WODs and other skills.
Has CrossFit affected your life outside the gym?
I think CrossFit has made me a healthier and more confident person outside the gym.
What advice would you give people just starting CF?
Have patience in learning the lifts and movements, have fun with it, and get to know the people at the gym! One of my favorite things about BN is just getting so see everyone in class 🙂
